As a busy pub in the scenic Fishing Village of Howth we are blessed with our fantastic location right on The East Pier in Howth. Having our pub in such a fantastic location means that we are quite a busy spot where day trippers and locals alike pop in daily. Giving them a nice place to eat, drink and enjoy company means there is no rest for the wicked here and we are always doing our best to try and improve the experience here, so you all keep coming to visit!

New and Improved Kitchen at O’Connells Howth:
Recent improvements saw us taking on a complete overhaul of our kitchen area, this has allowed our chefs more space and a better place to cook in! In our time we have figured out too that a happy chef, means tasty food, so everyones a winner when the grub is up! The kitchen improvements were completed at the end of September and we are back up and running with our full restaurant menus after briefly running a BBQ at the weekends while the kitchen was being built. The kitchen being finished on time was great news for us and that very same week we were over the moon to receive the news about winning an award from The Irish Pub Awards. It has just been a fantastic time for all the team at O’Connells!
O’Connells Howth wins Best Tourist Pub at The Irish Pub Awards 2022:
Being such a busy spot in Howth, its our main aim to give an enjoyable and memorable experience to our customers. This is central to what we at O’Connells is all about. Our team of locals have worked together for many years and all work hard to make O’Connells what it is! That is why it means so much to us that The Irish Pub Awards have announced us as Best Tourist Pub in the Dublin regionals.
We are so grateful to The Irish Pub Awards and to Failte Ireland for this fantastic accolade! Owner and manager Simon O’Connell says;

It’s been a long 4 weeks getting our new kitchen built but we are delighted with the results, and look forward to feeding some hungry people! We are so happy that the staff have received this recognition. Going toward the end of 2022 and into 2023 with this new award and our new kitchen the team at O’Connells are now in a better position than ever to keep giving our customers great service and great food!
So with all this excitement what is next for us!? Well, the All Ireland Final of The Irish Pub Awards is coming in Nov and O’Connells is into THE FINAL! Win or lose we are just happy to bee part of it and we very much look forward to seeing all the other regional winners there!
